Event Warehouse helper / truck driver
Permanent Part-time / Full-time
We are hiring! Our busy wedding season is here and we need help.
This position may lead to permanent position if the right person comes along.
The role requires the selected candidate to perform an array of functions that include pulling, packing, prepping and restocking event and rental orders, shipping and receiving rental pick ups, organizing, and maintaining inventory. Working along side with our event coordinator, this position is also responsible for keeping details up to date in the inventory software system. This role also involves transportation of event decor , props, linens and floral arches from venues in Vancouver, to surrounding lower mainland areas.
Rate: $25 – $30
This can be both part-time leading into full time.
Responsibilities
Order management
Check for damages and make note of missing product upon rental return
Unload and load trucks of boxes, bins, objects and props
Use moving dollies.
Maintains the general order of the warehouse.
Ensures stock locations accuracy and efficient storage of inventory.
Able to drive up to 3-ton trucks in Vancouver and around town.
Be flexible on work schedule at peak months.
Conduct pre-trip inspections and stock count before delivery.
Ability to read a table, charts, floor plan is preferred
Ability to use some computer or laptop is preferred.

Mandatory Requirements
Must be 25 years of age and older as required by company insurance
Possess a clean , valid "Class 5" BC Driver’s License
Lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
Ability to manage weight distribution and effective tie-strap usage Experience driving up to 3 ton trucks through the Lower Mainland
Travel up and down stairs unassisted, sometimes carrying objects
Push, pull and otherwise move large, heavy items with the use of moving equipment.
Stand for long periods.
Assist in event set up at times.
Become proficient in key Events Inventory database.
Assets
Previous warehousing and inventory stock experience
Proficient in Google suite
Ability to use a cell phone and experience in handing text messages and WhatsApp
Event Crew/ Decor
Permanent Part-time / Full-time
Event Crew/Wedding Decorator positions are part-time to start, and on-call spilt shifts with a minimum 4 hours per shift. The focus of this role will be to provide assistance with delivery set up and strike of events. Shifts may also be available to provide additional support in the warehouse.
Shifts will vary, including evenings and weekends. The role will lead to a permanent Part-time and or full time with growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Arrive on time, prepared to begin work
Take direction from the Event Lead
Unload and load trucks of boxes, bins, floral arch, decorative objects and pipe and drape hardware.
Using moving equipment for load-in and load-out
Assemble pipe and drapes, center pieces, flower arches, and other props
Arrange, display and set up table top decorative items, candles, floral center pieces, and other event decor and props
Install chair covers or tie bows/ribbons
Set up uplighting gear and tape down all wiring and extension cords
Lid candles
Set up linens and napkins, center pieces and floating candles and vases on gala tables
Set up wedding chairs and reset chairs ready for evening reception
Set up the event room décor based on floor plan and packing sheet.
Carefully unpack and repack breakable decor and props
Take down after event props and items and provide clean up and maintenance task in warehouse after event.
Restock item and create new inventory labels after each event
Unbox new product!
Enter new inventory information in inventory system.
Mandatory requirements
Lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
Travel up and down stairs unassisted, sometime carrying objects
Push, pull occasionally large heavy items with the use of moving equipment.
Be on your feet for long periods during event day.
Sometimes move-in and out of awkward spaces.
Design experience or related degree in design
Previous event and or stage crew experience
Experience with professional draping
Training
Basic decoration and set up and take down training and orientation will be
provided to qualified candidates.
